The tenth (10th) parliament of Uganda seems to see an influx of artists joining politics come 2021.
Artists Changing Goals
Struggling artists in the burning music industry have come out to show their intentions towards the political game. Getting lavish cars and posh houses seems to have become a back breaker from the music industry. While new talents mushroom day and night with hits and audience competition comes in.
Artists have gained momentum to declare political interest. This comes after a precedent move of the “mama” hit singer Judith Babirye. Not forgetting a celebrated comedian Kato Lubwama’s move to the legislative assembly in the previously concluded 2016 elections.
Kyagulanyi Sentamu aka Bobi Wine’s win of the Kyadondo east bye-elections in June 2017 ascribed many musicians even more than Judith and Kato’s move as a multi-fold of them vaunt interest in the forth coming 2021 elections.
These included Ronald Mayinja who was of no surprise according to his numerous political songs which pundit the state operations.
Daniel Kigozi aka Navio a renowned rapper shared a photograph of him and Bobi Wine which he captioned “MCs to MPs Rubaga 2021.” people haven interpreted this as indicating his interest in the constituency seat. The biggest question is whether Navio has the guts since Rubaga is among Kampala’s most competitive divisions.

Allan Mujuni commonly known as Amooti a comedian also on a local television station affirmed he is joining parliament come 2021 with a cardinal aim of freeing the dress code in the legislature to any attire of choice.
Charles Njagua aka Jaguar from Kenya was elected as the Member of Parliament of Starehe constituency. There fore the wind of change is not only affecting Uganda.
The future seems so difficult to predict positive most especially with the wind of celebrities who lack political orientation. The future stands to tell were it will end and a mile stone they will add.
