MTN Uganda announces the launch of the 2017 edition of MTN Women in Business Awards . It is a series of events through which MTN recognizes and celebrates the most outstanding female business leaders.

MTN Uganda’s Senior Manager of Enterprise, Ms. Hazel Twesigye, said since its inception in 1998 it created a stable platform for business to prosper. It also created a diversified employee and partner base in Uganda. This represented many women previously excluded from the real economy. However, MTN’s services are changing the way businesses run and among the key beneficiaries are women who are breaking all barriers and ceasing the opportunity to rise and shine in business and the corporate world.

MTN has been the head of supporting many businesses in Uganda. It is through its extensive Enterprise business as well as the MTN Business training programs for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). This program has over the last three years extended to Women in Business (WIB). This is to accelerate the role of women in driving enterprise development and job creation.

This year’s main focus will however be on what it takes for a woman to be successful. The theme will be: Survival for the fittest: Partnering for success.

They have created a platform for women who desire to support the drive for women empowerment by reaching out. They will also collaborate with other women who are passionate about driving positive change in communities throughout Uganda.

The MTN Women in Business awards shall be held on Friday March 17th, 2017 at the Kampala Serena Hotel. It is usually a full-day business EXPO where the leading female strategic partners and business associates showcase their products and services to visitors attending. This will be an effort to not only recognize these women, but to also give them an opportunity to profile their businesses to the public.
